Today begins The World Economic  Forum in Davos, Switzerland. As always, ConsulTree is looking at the big economic picture; and of course Davos is one of the most important economic conferences that exist. This year’s topic is Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business. Professor Klauss Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, explains his world economic view in three points: [there is]

  • Conscious Optimism: markets gaining confidence finally
  • Diminished Expectations: a 3% growth vs. 5% before the crisis
  • Many known unknowns: issues still unresolved like the European stress test

Again, the topics that are most highlighted are Job Creation and Social Inclusion. As the economy went through a financial crisis, that became an economic crisis leading to a social crisis,  what the forum is trying to debate is the reshaping of the economy so problems are not passed on to the next generation.
